ALANUI for women Travel is the inspiration that made Nicolò Oddi found the luxury knitwear label ALANUI in 2016. The project began with a trip Nicolò made to California, where he found this vintage cardigan at the Rose Bowl Flea Market, which he ended up giving to his sister Carlotta on her trip to Hawaii. Carlotta Oddi, fashion editor of Japanese Vogue at the time, fell in love and wore the cardigan with all her looks throughout the trip, she couldn't take it off. The idea for Alanui was born. ALANUI means "Big Path" in Hawaiian - Nicolò and Carlotta wanted to create a fashion item that is a perfect travel companion, in the highest quality and can accompany its wearer on all their big and small paths for a lifetime. Today the luxury label is from Milan coveted by style icons and fashion lovers worldwide for its extravagant collections in fascinating colors and fantastic designs. The heart of the Italian luxury brand is still the iconic jacquard statement knitted cardigan, a homage to the indigenous American peoples. Each copy is made by hand in complex processes from about one kilogram of the finest cashmere and is therefore a noble one-off. The oversize cashmere cardigans with their high recognition value have become an integral part of luxury streetwear fashion and embody a modern boho style like hardly any other piece of clothing. A complete ready-to-wear collection for women and men has been created around the key piece. From pullovers and jackets, to skirts, dresses and trousers, to denim, accessories and shoes, ALANUI lets us immerse ourselves in a colourful, cheerful world.
